“Support his neck,” I said.
“You see?” she replied. “Already hysterical.”
“Margaret, give him to me.”
“Karen is downstairs.”
My right hand moved toward the nurse call button.
Margaret noticed.
She stepped between me and the wall.
“Don’t create a scene.”
“You brought kidnapping papers into a maternity ward.”
“Watch your language.”
“Give me my son.”
“No.”
I pushed back the blanket.
The movement pulled at my incision. Heat ripped through my lower abdomen. I tasted blood where my teeth cut into my lip.
