What You Should Know Before Buying

1. Understand Your Real Need (Not Your Impulse)
The first and most important question before buying anything is:
“Do I actually need this?”
There is a huge difference between:
- Need: Something essential or genuinely useful in your life
- Want: Something desirable but not necessary
- Impulse: A sudden emotional urge to buy
Most bad purchases come from impulse.
Ask yourself:
- Will this solve a real problem?
- Will I still want or use this in 30 days?
- Do I already own something that does the same job?
- Am I buying this because I saw an ad or social media post?
A powerful rule is the 24-hour rule:
If it’s not urgent, wait 24 hours before buying. In many cases, the desire disappears.
