Jesse Salame named acting San Antonio police chief

 

 

SAN ANTONIO — Assistant Chief Jesse Salame will take over as acting chief of the San Antonio Police Department on Saturday, July 11, city officials announced.

Current Chief William McManus retires on Friday after 20 years on the job.

Salame, a 26-year veteran of the department, steps into the leadership role as the city continues its search for a permanent police chief.
