**Act 4: The Turnaround**
**Day 3 – Food Security**
Hank teaches them how to build a root cellar.
**Hank:**
"Down here we’re storin’ potatoes, carrots, beets. This is your winter lifeline. No more prayin’ the grocery store in town stays open."
Riley shows Sarah how to can meat and pressure-can vegetables.
**Riley:**
"Once you learn this, you ain’t never dependent again. This is freedom, sister."
**Sarah (tearing up while stirring a pot):**
"I feel like I’m finally becoming the mom my kids need out here."
The teen boy is helping Wade build a woodshed and learning chainsaw safety.
**Wade:**
"Respect the saw, kid. It don’t care if you’re tired. Keep your body out of the kickback zone."
**Teen boy:**
"This is actually badass. I thought homesteading was just Instagram pictures."
**Wade laughs:**
"Welcome to the real world, son."
