How to Make Hamburger Vegetable Soup

1. Brown the Ground Beef

Place a large soup pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and no longer pink.

If there is a large amount of excess grease, carefully drain some of it before continuing.

2. Add the Onion and Garlic

Add the diced onion to the browned beef.

Cook for several minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion begins to soften.

Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.

Be careful not to let the garlic burn.

3. Add the Vegetables

Add the diced potatoes, sliced carrots, celery, and green beans to the pot.

Give everything a good stir so the vegetables become coated with the flavorful beef mixture.

4. Build the Broth

Pour in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.

Add the salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce.

Stir everything together and bring the soup to a gentle boil.

5. Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot partially.

Let the soup simmer for approximately 25–35 minutes, or until the potatoes and carrots are tender.

Give it an occasional stir while it cooks.

If the soup becomes thicker than you'd like, add a little more beef broth or water.

6. Taste and Adjust

Once the vegetables are tender, taste the broth.

Add additional salt, pepper, or Italian seasoning if needed.

For a richer flavor, you can also add another small splash of Worcestershire sauce.

Then it's ready to serve.
