The morning sun filtered through the thin blinds of the quiet motel room where Antonio had been staying for the past seven days. 
He sat near the window, holding a warm mug of black coffee between his calloused hands. Antonio was a man who had endured the deepest grief a parent could face. Just a week ago, he had buried his beloved daughter, Laura, after a heartbreaking battle with illness. Laura had been his entire universe ever since her mother passed away years prior. Antonio had sacrificed everything to raise her, working long hours to fund her education and standing proudly by her side when she grew up and married Daniel.
Daniel, on the other hand, had always been ambitious. He was a smooth-talking young businessman who started a logistics firm years ago, promising Laura a life of comfort and security.
