My husband fired our babysitter and forced my mom with a broken arm to take care of our 4 children – So I taught him a lesson

He said, “Why do we need a babysitter? I fired her.

I thought I heard him wrong.

“What have you done what?”.

He took a sip and said, “Your mom lives here now, so she can take care of the kids”.

Then he added: “Or are you going to live here for free?”.

My mother was standing near the sink. I hadn’t even realized it was there.

He approached softly. “Honey, it’s okay. It should help somehow. “I can take care of the children”.

He seemed upset that I asked him.

I turned to her. “No”.

Carl shrugged. You see? Understand it”.

I looked at him again. “He has a broken arm”.

“And many grandmothers take care of their grandchildren. “No one pays thousands of dollars when the family is right here”.

I said, “How exactly did you think the daycare pickup was going to happen?”.

He seemed upset that I asked him. “I told your mother where the place was. I figured she could manage”.

I stayed looking at him.

The next day at work, I finally managed to talk to Nina on the phone during lunch.

My mother had been in our city for less than twenty-four hours. He had only one arm that worked. It wasn’t even listed as authorized collection.

My mother started saying something, probably to calm things down, because that’s what she does. I interrupted her.

“Mom, you’re not here to babysit. You’re not going to do anything. I’ll take care of this.

Carl rolled his eyes. “You’re getting dramatic”.

Instead, I stayed silent.

The next day at work, I finally called Nina during lunch.

I said, “Why didn’t you call me yesterday?”.

I told her I would call her.

“I was about to do it”, he said. “But Carl told me that you were busy in meetings all day and that he had already clarified it with you. It seemed very safe. He said your mother was moving in to help you and they both agreed.

I closed my eyes. “We didn’t”.

She let out a sigh. “I figured something wasn’t right”.

I told her I would call her again.

I was very upset. Not just Carl for firing her without telling me. With myself for not seeing what kind of man thinks an injured woman is a personnel solution.

When I got home that night, the house smelled of onion and detergent.

Carl was on the couch with his laptop.
