💬 What do you think?
transportation, childcare, and other wedding-related expenses. And not everyone has the same financial situation.
A wedding gift is traditionally meant to be a gesture of love and support, not an entrance fee.
And when the invitation specifically says that $150 is the minimum, it can make guests wonder:
👉 Is the couple asking for a gift—or charging guests to attend their wedding?
👉 Should the cost of the wedding determine how much guests are expected to give?
👉 What if someone simply cannot afford $150?
👉 And does being a close family member change what you should give?
Personally, I think weddings should be about celebrating love, family, and friendship—not making guests feel financially obligated.
💬 What do you think?
A. $150 minimum is completely reasonable.
B. A gift should always be optional and based on what you can afford.
C. Asking for a specific amount on the invitation is inappropriate.
